How Do I Sort By Sender or Date or Subject in GMail?

Users coming from Outlook, Outlook Express, or other mail client software will find a quick difference in the way that e-mail is sorted in GMail. You can only sort by Oldest -> Newest; or Newest -> Oldest.

Because GMail is based on "search" - the core of most Google services - GMail is to be searched by a phrase or limit keyword.  If you want to see all e-mail with a specific person, type their e-mail address in the GMail search bar, and you will see all e-mail containing the person's e-mail address as "FROM" or "TO" or "SUBJECT" or within the message body - within seconds.  You can further refine your search by adding more details.

I want to find an e-mail I sent to Sally Jones last month about vacation plans; use the following in the GMail search bar:

You're telling GMail to find any mention of Sally's e-mail address, containing the word "vacation" after May 31, but before July 1.

By using search language, you will quickly find it more cumbersome to sort by sender, date or subject, instead quickly finding files, e-mails, important information and more very quickly and easily.
